Questions
Do I need the internet at all?
Once. KisuKisu downloads its speech and cleanup models the first time you set it up. After that, dictation needs no connection. You only go online again if you choose a different model.
Does it really work in airplane mode?
Yes. Turn on airplane mode, turn off Wi-Fi, and dictate. Speech recognition, cleanup, your dictionary and your learned words are all on the phone.
How big is the download?
It depends on your phone. About 275 MB on most phones, and about 780 MB on a faster 6 GB phone or bigger. Exact model sizes.
Is the offline AI as good as cloud dictation?
On phones with 6 GB of memory or more, KisuKisu uses its largest, most accurate speech model. Smaller phones get lighter models that are a little less accurate on long or noisy speech. You can switch models any time in Settings.
What if the cleanup model hasn't finished downloading?
You can still dictate. KisuKisu tidies the text with its built-in rules (fillers, numbers, “new line”) and adds the AI cleanup once the model is in.
How is this different from my keyboard's voice typing?
Your keyboard types what you say. KisuKisu also removes the ums, restarts and “I mean”s, on the phone. KisuKisu vs Gboard.
Which languages does it understand?
English. Other languages are not supported yet.
How do I get KisuKisu?
KisuKisu is in closed testing on Google Play. Fill in the short form with the Google account you use in the Play Store. We add you, usually within a day, and you install it from Google Play.
