What your phone gets
Two models: one turns speech into text, one tidies the text. KisuKisu picks the pair from your phone's memory, and on a big phone it times a short test clip first, so a phone that would be slow with the biggest model gets the lighter one.

If free space is the limit rather than memory, KisuKisu says so before it downloads anything. A 6 GB phone can also choose the lighter Parakeet Small, and the app offers that if dictation feels slow on your phone.

Questions
What is the minimum Android version?
Android 7.0 (API level 24) or newer.
Does it work on 32-bit phones?
No. KisuKisu needs a 64-bit ARM processor (arm64-v8a). Most Android phones sold in recent years have one.
How much RAM do I need?
It runs on phones with 3 GB. With about 6 GB or more, and a phone that passes a short speed test, you get the largest, most accurate speech model. Every other phone gets a lighter one that is nearly as accurate on everyday speech.
How much storage does it need?
The app, plus about 275 MB to 780 MB of models depending on your phone, plus about 350 MB of headroom while downloading. If you are short on space, KisuKisu picks smaller models, or tells you how much to free before it starts.
Does it work on Android Go phones?
Yes. On phones Android marks as low on memory, KisuKisu starts with its smallest models.
My phone has 4 GB. Can I use the biggest model anyway?
Yes. Every model is in Settings. The automatic choice is only a starting point. A model that is too big for your phone's memory may be slow or fail, so the app picks a safe one first.
Can I delete models to free space?
Yes. Delete any model you are not using in Settings. You can download it again any time.
Which languages does it understand?
English. Other languages are not supported yet.
How do I get KisuKisu?
KisuKisu is in closed testing on Google Play. Fill in the short form with the Google account you use in the Play Store. We add you, usually within a day, and you install it from Google Play.
